ADC Leadership Dispute Escalates in Zamfara State

The ADC in Zamfara State is experiencing internal conflict as two rival factions vie for control. One faction, led by Malam Moham Mainasara, has announced the formation of a new state executive committee, claiming to have the authorization from the party's national leadership.

This faction's committee, which includes Malam Shehu Gulubba as state chairman and Dr. Ahmad Hashim as secretary, was facilitated by Ambassador Zubairu Yalwa.

However, the opposing faction, led by Kabiru Garba Gusau, rejects the legitimacy of this new leadership, labeling the process as invalid and alleging that it is driven by individuals seeking to create divisions for political purposes. Gusau's faction argues that the congress involved broad consultations and agreements among stakeholders.

Security agencies, including the police and DSS, have been warned not to accept the outcomes of the disputed exercise. Additionally, Gusau has announced disciplinary actions against those who participated in the congress, asserting that he remains the duly recognized state chairman.
