Super Eagles Coaches Head to Turkey for Friendlies

The Super Eagles coaching staff, including local assistant coach Daniel Ogunmoded, will travel to Turkey for a double-header friendly against Iran and Jordan scheduled for March 23, 2026. Ogunmoded has recently achieved a UEFA B license in Scotland and made history by leading Remo Star to their first-ever NPFL championship last season.

However, the team's fortunes have declined since then, as Remo Star struggles to survive in the league. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical committee is expected to meet soon to discuss the best local assistant for Super Eagles coach Eric Chell, who is seeking a proven Nigerian assistant.

Ogunmoded's appointment comes amid scrutiny of the coaching staff, with Usman Abdallah, head coach of Ikenne outfit, and Fide Ilechukwu, in charge of Enugu Rangers, among the front runners for the assistant coach position.
