Super Falcons Prepare for WAFCON After Jamaica Withdrawal

The Super Falcons, Nigeria's women's national football team, are redirecting their preparations for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) following Jamaica's withdrawal from a planned friendly match due to administrative issues. The team, under the guidance of coach Justin Madugu, was set to play Jamaica at the end of the month as part of their training regimen.

Instead, the Super Falcons will host an AFCON-bound team for a two-leg friendly during the next international window from June 7 to June 14. Nigeria aims to secure its record-extending 11th WAFCON title in Morocco, where they have been drawn into Group C alongside Malawi, Zambia, and Egypt.

The WAFCON tournament is scheduled to take place from July 25 to August 16.
