Jamaica FA Cancels Friendly with Nigeria's Super Falcons

The Jamaica Football Federation announced the cancellation of a planned friendly match against Nigeria's Super Falcons, attributing the decision to administrative issues concerning FIFA compliance. The match was proposed for May 27-30, 2026, but the dates fell outside the official FIFA women's international window, which is scheduled from June 1 to June 9, 2026.

The Jamaica Football Federation clarified that contrary to reports suggesting the cancellation was due to administrative issues, it was primarily to ensure that logistical procedures met international benchmarks. The federation reaffirmed its commitment to FIFA compliance and transparency following recent reports surrounding proposed fixtures involving the Reggae Girlz and Nigeria.

As a result of the cancellation, the Super Falcons are expected to explore alternative warm-up fixtures in preparation for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
