LIMCAF Opens in Lagos, Showcasing Young Artists

The Lagos regional exhibition of the Life in My City Art Festival (LIMCAF) opened on July 25 at the Thought Pyramid Art Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos. This event showcased works from emerging artists under 35, as part of LIMCAF's efforts to highlight young creative talent.

The festival, entering its 19th edition under the theme "Open Letter," received 830 entries from across Nigeria, with the top 100 works to be selected for the grand finale exhibition in Enugu, scheduled for October 24-31. The awards ceremony will take place on October 31 at the International Conference Centre of the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu.

LIMCAF has a prize pool exceeding ₦50 million this year, marking one of its most ambitious editions since its establishment in 2007. The exhibition was officially opened by LIMCAF Artistic Director Dr Ayo Adewunmi and coordinated by Lagos representative Okechukwu Eze, featuring a variety of artistic approaches, including paintings, photographs, and sculptures.
