LAHF 2026 to Transform Lagos into a Living Body

The Lagos Arts and Health Festival (LAHF) 2026 is set to reimagine Lagos as a living, sensing body, emphasizing the emotions, creativity, labor, and collective care of its people. The theme for this edition is ‘Lagos as a Body – Creative Care in Action’.

The festival is endorsed by the Lagos State Government’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and co-produced by several organizations including the Global Arts in Medicine Fellowship and The Foladavid Care Foundation. Key highlights will include mental health programming for youth, arts outreach in clinical and correctional settings, sensory workshops, farmers’ markets, and a citywide health fair.

The festival aims to strengthen legacy infrastructure through policy dialogues and cross-sector collaborations. Dr. Kunle Adewale, Chair and Global Development Lead of the Global South Arts and Health Initiative, noted the importance of the arts for human well-being.

Other contributors, including Ms. Aisha Augie and Dr. Gbonjubola Abiri, emphasized the role of culture and community in promoting mental health.
