Idri Baba Appointed New Yobe Sector Commander of FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has appointed Idri Baba as the new sector commander for Yobe State, effective Tuesday. Baba, who hails from Potiskum Local Government Area, takes over from Andrew Longkam.

This appointment follows a recent reshuffle of senior officers within the FRSC. Yau Mohammed, the public relations officer for the Yobe State Sector Command, confirmed the development in a statement issued in Damaturu.

Baba has previously served in various capacities within the FRSC, with his last assignment as the zonal head of motor vehicle administration in Bauchi. He is described as having vast experience in road safety administration and traffic management.

Upon assuming office, Baba's administration will focus on enhancing the visibility of the FRSC and intensifying public enlightenment campaigns across the state. His efforts will target training personnel and improving emergency response to ensure prompt clearance of road obstructions.

Additionally, Baba plans to strengthen collaboration with stakeholders, including transport unions and security agencies, to improve road safety in Yobe State.
