FRSC Recovers Stolen Vehicle After 11 Years of Theft

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported significant success in festive road safety management and the fight against vehicle-related crime. In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, FRSC spokesperson Felicia Kalu noted that the leadership of the Corps, under Corps Marshal Moham Shehu, has strengthened intelligence-driven operations.

This includes a proactive road safety strategy and a technology-based vehicle tracking system aimed at safeguarding lives and property nationwide. A recent operation led to the recovery of a stolen Toyota Camry, which had been reported stolen in Benue State on August 13, 2015.

The recovery occurred during a routine verification process on March 24, 2026, in Ebonyi State, where discrepancies in vehicle records were flagged. The vehicle was identified as belonging to Adeka Emmanuel Akoji.

Subsequent collaboration with the Nigeria Police, particularly the anti-kidnap squad in Abakaliki, facilitated the recovery on March 27, 2026. The vehicle had been re-registered under a new plate number to conceal its identity, demonstrating the effectiveness of the NVI platform in tracking and verifying vehicle ownership.
