FRSC Urges Politicians to Prioritize Road Safety in Campaigns

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has called on politicians and their supporters to refrain from reckless driving, excessive speed, and dangerous overloading during political campaigns. Mr. Samson Kaura, the FRSC Sector Commander in Gombe State, emphasized the need for safe driving practices in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.

He urged political parties, candidates, and supporters to strictly comply with traffic regulations to prevent road crashes, injuries, and fatalities. Kaura highlighted the importance of educating drivers about the dangers of speeding, especially in populated areas.

He also warned against substance abuse while driving, stating that it impairs vision and reasoning, increasing the risk of accidents. The FRSC has begun sensitizing political stakeholders in Gombe State to promote responsible driving throughout the campaign period, urging that only properly licensed drivers operate campaign vehicles and cautioning against overloading.
