FSA Complains to FIFA Over High World Cup Ticket Prices

The Football Supporters' Association (FSA) has lodged a formal complaint against FIFA, accusing the organization of imposing excessive ticket prices for the World Cup scheduled to kick off on June 11 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The complaint was filed alongside a European consumer claim, highlighting that fans are forced to accept high prices due to a lack of competitive ticket sales.

FIFA introduced a limit of 60 tickets per batch in December following backlash over pricing. However, the FSA argues that this move did little to alleviate concerns, as cheaper tickets remain scarce.

They are calling for FIFA to eliminate dynamic pricing, which fluctuates based on demand, and instead freeze prices ahead of the next ticket release in April. The FSA's statement identifies six alleged breaches, including the promotion of lower-priced tickets that are not widely accessible.

FSA director Ronan Evain expressed frustration, stating that loyal fans are left with no choice but to pay exorbitant prices, with the lowest tier tickets costing $5,225 and premium seats reaching $12,350.
