Fubara's Aide Defends Governor Against Wike's Accusations

Onwuka Nzeshi, the Chief Press Secretary to River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, stated that Fubara is dedicated to governance and infrastructure development. This statement comes in response to accusations from former governor Nyesom Wike, who claimed during a media chat in Abuja that Fubara is focusing on his second-term ambitions rather than fulfilling his current responsibilities.

Wike alleged that Fubara reneged on an agreement not to seek re-election, following interventions from President Bola Tinubu amid a political crisis in the state. Nzeshi refuted Wike's claims as false, emphasizing that Fubara continues to inspect and execute critical infrastructure projects across River State.

He urged residents to disregard attempts to discredit the governor, asserting that Fubara inherited 12 major road projects from the previous administration, which are 90% complete. Nzeshi insisted that the governor is actively engaged in his duties rather than plotting for the 2027 elections.
