Loyalists of Siminalayi Fubara have officially submitted his re-election form for Governor of River State, signaling a challenge to former Governor Nyesom Wike. The decision, led by Awaji Inombek Abiant and supported by various elder leaders across the state, was made to prioritize public sentiment over personal ambitions.

The River Women Unit has publicly backed Fubara, aligning with the presidency of Bola Tinubu, and underscoring the importance of continuing the people-oriented transformation agenda in River State. Abiant highlighted that Fubara's leadership style is humble and attuned to the needs of ordinary citizens, showcasing visible progress in infrastructure and economic opportunities.
