Fubara Swears in Five Commissioners in River State

On Wednesday, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of River State swore in five new commissioners at a ceremony held at the Government House in Port Harcourt. The commissioners who took their oaths include Mr.

Tony Bellgam, Professor Templ Nwofor, Dr. Peter Nwagor, Mr.

Leku Kenneth, and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart. Governor Fubara expressed confidence in the newly appointed commissioners, noting that they successfully passed the rigorous screening process conducted by the River State House of Assembly, which was led by Martin Amaewhul.

However, the governor did not comment on the four other nominees who were rejected by the assembly due to discrepancies related to tax matters. The initial list submitted included nine nominees, of which only five were approved.
