Tinubu Addresses Nigerians on Rising Fuel Prices

During a visit to Bayelsa State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu addressed stakeholders and inaugurated projects, including a 60-megawatt gas turbine plant in Elebel Ogbia Local Government Area and a 2.9 km dual carriageway in Yenagoa. In his speech, Tinubu acknowledged the economic challenges posed by rising fuel prices, urging Nigerians to remain grateful as they are better off than those in Kenya.

He highlighted the global context of the fuel price increase, attributing it to conflicts in the Middle East and the impact of Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz on fuel shipments worldwide. Tinubu noted that a temporary lifting of restrictions by Iran during a ceasefire agreement could provide some relief, but emphasized the ongoing nature of these economic challenges.
