TETFund Launches 13 Projects to Boost Medical Education

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) unveiled 13 projects at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare (FUHSA) in Bauchi State to enhance medical education, research, and healthcare delivery in Nigeria. This announcement was made by TETFund's Executive Secretary, Sonny Echono, during the commissioning of the projects.
Echono described the investment as part of the Federal Government's commitment to improving medical education and producing skilled health professionals. He commended FUHSA's Governing Council, Senate, management, and staff for their contributions to the university's rapid development since its establishment in 2021.
The commissioned projects include modern laboratories, lecture theatres, student hostels, and research centres aimed at providing conducive learning environments for future healthcare professionals. Echono also addressed the "japa" syndrome, urging Nigerians to focus on expanding training capacities for healthcare personnel, asserting that the economic value of exporting skilled professionals could surpass that of exporting raw natural resources.
