AMVCA Announces Nominees for 12th Edition Ceremony

The Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) has officially released the list of nominees for its 12th edition ceremony, which is set to take place on May 9, 2026. Veteran actress Joke Silva has been announced as the head judge for this year's event, which will feature a total of 32 categories.

Among these, 18 will be determined by a panel of judges, while 11 will be decided by audience votes. Notably, the AMVCA has introduced two new categories: Best Indigenous Language Film for North Africa and Best Indigenous Language Film for Central Africa, aimed at promoting inclusivity and highlighting storytelling from different regions across the continent.

The nominees were unveiled during a live broadcast on the Africa Magic channel, with expectations that the 2026 edition will bring together leading figures in African entertainment to celebrate outstanding contributions in film and television.
