Bovi and Nomzamo Mbatha to Host 12th AMVCA in 2026

The Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) has officially named Nigerian comedian and actor Bovi and South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha as the hosts for its 12th edition, set to take place on May 9, 2026, at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos. This announcement signifies the conclusion of IK Osakioduwa's 11-year run as the host, a role he has held since the award's inception in 2013.

Bovi is recognized as a prominent stand-up comedian known for his sharp wit and storytelling abilities, while Mbatha is celebrated for her extensive profile as an actress, producer, and UNHCR goodwill ambassador. The AMVCA organizers have described the duo as masters of wit and narrative, promising a night that will celebrate African excellence.

The awards ceremony will feature nominations, with veteran actress Joke Silva leading with nine nominations across various categories, followed by Davi Brother with eight nominations. The 12th AMVCA is sponsored by brands including Guinness, MTN, Indomie, and others.
