AMVCA to Announce 12th Edition Nominees on March 29

The Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) is set to announce its nominees for the 12th edition on March 29, 2026. The announcement will occur during a special broadcast at 7 PM across Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv.

This year, a total of 32 award categories will be unveiled, which includes two newly introduced categories: Best Indigenous Language in Central Africa and Best Indigenous Language in North Africa. The awards will be determined by 18 jurors for competitive categories, while 11 categories will be open to public voting.

Additionally, there will be three special recognition honors, including a Lifetime Achievement Award and a Trailblazer Award. Atinuk Babatunde, the Executive Head of Content at MultiChoice West Africa, emphasized the importance of celebrating Africa's diverse languages and creative voices.

Veteran actress Joke Silva will serve as the head judge for this edition, bringing her extensive experience in the industry. The AMVCA is scheduled for May 9, 2026.
