AFRIMMA Awards Return with Davido Leading Nominations

The African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) has announced its return after a two-year break, with nominations unveiled on Instagram by founder Anderson Obiagwu. Nigerian artist Davido leads the nominations with five entries, including Artist of the Year and Best Male West Africa.

Other top nominees include Burna Boy, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, and Black Sherif from Ghana, while South African singer Tyla leads among female nominees with three nominations. The 2026 edition will introduce the first-ever AFRIMMA Music Festival in Dallas, Texas, scheduled for September 12, 2026, featuring performances, food vendors, and fashion showcases from across Africa.

The festival aims to enhance the experience for fans and celebrate African music on a larger scale.
