Full List: Major Shakeup in Nigerian Army As COAS Redeploys Top Generals

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) in Nigeria, Olufemi Oluyede, has approved a major redeployment of senior officers in key command staff positions. The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Appolonia Anele, confirmed this in a statement on Sunday, August 17.

The redeployment affects Principal Staff Officers (PSOs) at Army Headquarters, General Officers Commanding (GOCs), Corps Commanders, Commandants of training institutions, and Brigade Commanders. Anele also disclosed the appointment of new GOCs as part of the reshuffle.

COAS Oluyede urged the newly appointed officers to intensify efforts in combating terrorism and insurgency in the country. Additionally, a retirement ceremony was held for 542 members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, including soldiers from the Nigerian Army and the Air Force, with COAS Oluyede commending their dedication to national service.
