Nigeria Ranks 5th in English Proficiency in Africa, Says 2025 Report

Nigeria has been ranked as the 5th best English-speaking country in Africa based on the 2025 English Proficiency Index report by Education First (EF). The report assessed English skills across 123 countries, with Nigeria emerging as the 29th worldwide.

South Africa leads in English language skills in Africa, ranking 13th globally. Zimbabwe and Zambia also made significant rankings in English proficiency.

The report highlighted the widespread use of English in government, education, and media across the African continent.
