Nnamdi Kanu Sentenced to Life Imprisonment on Terrorism Charges

Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been convicted by the Federal High Court in Abuja on seven counts of terrorism-related charges. Justice James Omotosho found Kanu guilty of engaging in acts of terror and inciting attacks against security operatives.

Kanu's broadcasts and statements were deemed to have clear intent to commit acts falling under Nigeria's terror laws. The charges against Kanu spanned activities in the UK and Nigeria, including secessionist activities.

The court established his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, leading to a life imprisonment sentence.
