Tinubu Addresses Economic Challenges in Anniversary Speech

In his speech on the third anniversary of his administration, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu outlined the significant economic challenges Nigeria has faced, including structural difficulties, fiscal pressures, and unsustainable fuel subsidies. He noted that Nigeria spends approximately 18.4 billion naira daily to sustain petrol subsidies, amounting to 4 trillion naira in 2022 alone.

Tinubu highlighted the urgent need for courageous reforms to stabilize the economy and prevent a deeper crisis. He expressed confidence in Nigeria's recovery, citing visible progress in economic growth, with the stock market booming and a rise in market capitalization.

Infrastructure projects, including the construction of 2,700 kilometers of major roads, were also mentioned as critical advancements. Tinubu acknowledged the sacrifices made by families and workers and assured that these sacrifices would not be in vain, emphasizing the importance of power sector improvements and agricultural interventions to empower Nigerians.
