Tinubu's 3-Year Anniversary: Focus on Peace and Economy

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration is celebrating three years in office, emphasizing peace-building and conflict resolution as essential tools for national development. His government is pursuing bold reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria's economy and strengthening national cohesion.

Significant initiatives include addressing the Ogoni crisis, which has caused unrest since 1990 due to environmental concerns. Tinubu's administration initiated fresh consultations involving community leaders and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) to rebuild trust and create a framework for reconciliation.

A presidential committee, chaired by Professor Don Baridam, is set to submit a report by September 25, 2025, to facilitate the resumption of oil exploration in Ogoniland. Additionally, Tinubu is working to resolve the long-standing Malabu oil OPL 245 dispute, which is expected to boost investor confidence and increase Nigeria's oil production capacity.

The administration also aims to address ethno-religious tensions in Plateau State through stakeholder dialogues, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable peace and economic growth.
