WFP Forced to Scale Down Hunger Program in Nigeria, Impacting Millions in West Africa

The World Food Programme (WFP) is forced to reduce its hunger intervention program in Nigeria from 1.3 million to 72,000 people by 2025 due to funding constraints. The West Central Africa region, including Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, and Niger, is expected to face a severe hunger crisis affecting millions, with 13 million children at risk of malnutrition in 2026.
