FUTA Student Favour Olaniyi Found Dead Near Campus

Favour Olaniyi, a 100-level student at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, was found dead near an off-campus residence. The university's Director of Corporate Communication, Adegbenro Adebanjo, issued a statement on Sunday confirming the death.

The incident was reported to the university's security unit, which promptly alerted the police. The university management informed that police officers, alongside medical personnel, responded to the scene and evacuated the body to the morgue.

The deceased's parents have been notified, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death has commenced, with the university cooperating fully with security agencies. The university also disclosed that counseling support is being provided to students affected by this tragic event, encouraging them to utilize the counseling services available through the Student Affairs Division.
