FUTATH to Conduct Biometric Capture for Eligible Workers

The Federal University Teaching Hospital, Akure (FUTATH) announced plans to conduct a mop-up biometric capture for eligible workers. This initiative, disclosed by Chief Medical Director Professor Olusegun Ojo on Wednesday, aims to facilitate the migration of workers to the federal government's payroll by the end of August.

The need for this mop-up exercise arose due to disruptions in the initial biometric verification process, which led to misinformation affecting hospital staff. The exercise is crucial for ensuring that all eligible workers are accurately captured and integrated into the payroll system, as it is a prerequisite for subsequent salary payments.

The Chief Medical Director emphasized that the exercise would involve a joint verification process with various federal ministries and agencies. Additionally, he acknowledged the infrastructural challenges faced by the hospital and appealed for support from philanthropists and the public to enhance the institution's capabilities.
