Galatasaray Rejects N195bn Bid for Victor Osimhen

Galatasaray has firmly rejected a record-breaking bid of €125 million (approximately N195 billion) for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, currently with Napoli. The club's president, Dursun Özbek, emphasized that Osimhen is not for sale unless he expresses a desire to leave.

This statement follows Osimhen's recognition as the 2023 African Player of the Year. Meanwhile, Galatasaray is reportedly looking to sign Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare as a backup for their attacking line next season.

The Turkish champions are also preparing for the potential departure of Mauro Icardi, a 33-year-old striker, which would create a significant gap in their attack. Arokodare, who has a good relationship with Osimhen, previously had a challenging debut season with Wolverhampton before moving to Belgian club Genk for €26 million last summer, where he scored six goals and provided two assists in 38 appearances.
