European Clubs Hesitant to Sign Osimhen from Galatasaray

Turkish football pundit Serdar Ali Elikl discussed the challenges surrounding the potential transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray during a segment on the Neo Spor YouTube channel. Osimhen has had an outstanding season, scoring 59 goals in 74 matches across competitions, which has attracted interest from several top European teams, including Arsenal and Real Madrid.

However, Elikl noted that the financial package required to secure Osimhen's services is a significant deterrent for prospective buyers. He stated that no European club is inclined to invest the €150 million (approximately ₦241 billion) transfer fee, along with a €21 million net salary for Osimhen.

Elikl suggested that Galatasaray may need to negotiate a lower transfer fee between €75 million and €100 million, and that Osimhen might have to consent to a reduced salary of €10 million to facilitate a transfer. He asserted that Osimhen is likely to remain in Istanbul until the end of his contract, which is set to expire in the summer of 2029.
