Galaxy Backbone to Expand Broadband to 13 Communities

Galaxy Backbone announced plans to expand broadband connectivity to 13 underserved communities in Nigeria by 2025. This initiative aims to strengthen digital access for educational institutions and public administration, which are critical to national infrastructure.

The expansion will cover three federal universities, two local government areas, and eight federal secretariats, enhancing digital capabilities and improving service delivery to key public institutions. Additionally, Galaxy Backbone will extend reliable broadband services to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, reinforcing connectivity in the country's strategic transport and economic hub.

This rollout targets institutions within reach of its infrastructure footprint, particularly those with strong potential for digital use. The effort aims to unlock opportunities, stimulate innovation, and support sustainable growth across critical sectors.

This milestone reflects progress in integrating digital transformation strategies aligned with the federal government's broadband penetration objectives, complementing national initiatives like the project to connect 774 university hostels. Further phases of deployment and updates are expected as implementation progresses.
