Ganduje to Launch Independent Hisbah in Kano to Enforce Sharia Law

Former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is finalizing plans to launch an independent Hisbah initiative in Kano across all 44 local government areas. The initiative, chaired by Sheikh Haroon Sani Ibn Seena, has already screened 12,000 individuals across the state.

The committee emphasizes collaboration with security agencies and adherence to Islamic teachings. The Nigerian Constitution allows for appropriate actions against improper behavior.

This move comes after a previous governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, did not fully implement Sharia law during his tenure. The initiative aims to work alongside state security outfits.
