Rudi Garcia to Leave as Belgium Coach After World Cup

Rudi Garcia will resign as head coach of the Belgium national football team after the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final run. The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) confirmed that Garcia's contract, which expires on July 31, will not be extended.

This announcement follows Belgium's elimination from the World Cup, where they were defeated 2-1 by Spain, with Charl De Ketelaere scoring Belgium's only goal. Garcia, who has been in charge for 18 months, expressed gratitude towards the players, sports director Vincent Mannaert, and fans for their support during his tenure.

Under his management, Belgium achieved a record of 12 wins, six draws, and two defeats in 20 matches. The RBFA has not yet named a successor, and Belgium's next fixtures include a UEFA Nations League match against Italy on September 25 and a home game against France on September 28.
