Gawuna Visits Kwankwaso After ADC Defection in Kano

Gawuna, the former Deputy Governor of Kano State, visited Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former presidential candidate, after Kwankwaso's defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The visit, which took place on a Monday, confirmed a social media post where Kwankwaso expressed his delight in hosting Gawuna.

During the meeting, they discussed future political alignments. Gawuna is reportedly preparing to join the ADC alongside Kwankwaso, having submitted a resignation letter dated March 27, 2026, from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This decision is said to take immediate effect as part of compliance with the Electoral Act and to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's directives regarding political appointments. Gawuna expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve as Chairman of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) Governing Board.
