Gawuna Resigns from APC, Plans Meeting with Kwankwaso

Gawuna, the former Deputy Governor of Kano State, has formally resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as of March 29, 2026. In his resignation letter addressed to the APC chairman of Gawuna Ward in Nassarawa Local Government Area, he described the decision as voluntary and expressed appreciation for the opportunities he received during his time as a party member.

However, he did not disclose his next political move. His resignation occurs amidst significant political realignments in Kano State, where key political actors are shifting alliances in anticipation of future electoral contests.

Sources close to Gawuna indicate that he is expected to meet with former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso at his residence on Miller Road in Kano, which is viewed as part of ongoing political maneuvers in the state following recent defections among major political figures.
