Gbajabiamila Criticized for ADC Comments Amid Crisis

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, has come under fire for his comments made during the 50th birthday celebration of Leke Abejide's wife in Abuja. In a video that surfaced online, Gbajabiamila urged lawmakers to remain committed to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) despite ongoing internal conflicts, stating that they should not abandon the party.

His remarks have drawn criticism, with Kola Ologbondiyan describing them as reckless and suggesting they confirm the president's involvement in destabilizing opposition parties. Nnenna Ukej, a former member of the House of Representatives, expressed concern that Gbajabiamila's comments could influence political judicial outcomes, especially given the ongoing litigation affecting ADC leadership.

Legal expert Umar Usman Danbaito noted that while political maneuvering is common in Nigeria, Gbajabiamila's encouragement of chaos within the ADC raises ethical questions about public office conduct. Political analyst Jide Ojo condemned the remarks as troubling and offensive.
