Plateau Gender Commission Launches SGBV Awareness Campaign

The Plateau State Gender Equal Opportunities Commission, led by Vice Chairperson Olivia Dazyam, initiated a sensitization campaign targeting sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and human trafficking on metro buses in Bukuru. The campaign was launched with the support of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who emphasized the importance of using metro buses as a platform to engage with the public.

Dazyam highlighted the need for community awareness regarding issues such as child protection, child labor, and human trafficking. She urged residents to speak out against these violations and not remain silent.

The commission's outreach will continue with a scheduled itinerary, aiming to reach a large audience daily through the metro bus service. This initiative is part of a broader effort to combat human trafficking and raise awareness about the rights of children and vulnerable populations in Plateau State.
