Giants of Africa Unveils 50th Basketball Court in Lagos

Giants of Africa, co-founded by Masai Ujiri, inaugurated its 50th community basketball court at King’s College in Lagos, marking a significant milestone in its goal to construct 100 courts across Africa. The launch event, held on a Monday, combined basketball, music, and entertainment, creating a memorable experience for students, parents, and community members.

The newly completed modern basketball facility is situated within the school grounds and was built by Webber Engineering, led by CEO Babalola, a former basketball player turned sports entrepreneur. Ujiri, who presided over the ceremony, expressed excitement about reaching this halfway mark in their mission to empower young African basketball players.

The principal of King’s College acknowledged the support from alumni, particularly those from 1982 to 1988, in making this dream a reality. The event also included a women’s basketball coaching clinic aimed at promoting gender equity in sports, reinforcing Giants of Africa's commitment to youth development and community engagement.
