Rhodes-Vivour Appeals for Support Amid Political Shift

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the former Lagos State governorship candidate for the Labour Party, has made an appeal to supporters of Peter Obi, urging them to give him time as he chooses to stay with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) rather than joining the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC). In a post made on Friday, Rhodes-Vivour acknowledged the frustrations surrounding his decision and expressed gratitude for the support he has received.

He drew parallels between his current situation and his previous exit from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the Labour Party in 2022, stating that he faced ridicule at that time. Rhodes-Vivour reassured supporters that his political relationship with the Obi movement remains intact as they approach the 2027 elections.

He requested patience from his supporters until the end of the month, promising that his commitment to the ADC would be clearer by then. This appeal comes amid growing political realignments within Nigeria's opposition bloc ahead of the 2027 general elections.
