FIFA Reports Record High Global Transfer Spending in Football for 2025

In a landmark year for football deals, FIFA's global transfer report for 2025 reveals a record-breaking total of 24,558 international transfers in men's professional football, marking a 7% increase from the previous year. The total expenditure on international transfers reached a staggering $13.08 billion, a 50% increase compared to the previous year, surpassing the $10 billion mark for the first time in a single calendar year.

Premier League clubs emerged as the biggest spenders, with a combined outlay of $3.82 billion, while new signings generated the highest income and outgo transfer of $1.77 billion. Liverpool made a significant move by signing Isak for £172 million, breaking the British transfer record.

The report highlighted the financial strength of the elite game, with Brazil, Portugal, Paraguay, Colombia, Argentina, and Bolivia featuring prominently in player movements.
