GOC Urges 32 Artillery Brigade to Intensify Operations

On September 4, 2026, Major General Auwalu Mahmuda, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, addressed troops at the 32 Artillery Brigade during his first operational visit to Owena Cantonment in Akure, Ondo State. He emphasized the need for the brigade to sustain their operational tempo and deny criminal elements freedom of action within their Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Mahmuda acknowledged the ongoing security challenges faced by the brigade, which are similar to those encountered by other formations under the division. He commended the troops for their efforts and urged them to maintain an aggressive operational posture.

The GOC also reassured the troops of the Nigerian Army's commitment to their welfare, highlighting a recent salary increment as part of the "Soldiers First Concept" under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu. He called on the soldiers to uphold the reputation of the Nigerian Army and intensify their efforts against criminal activities.
