Gombe Governor Reaffirms Commitment to Security, Economy

During the 2026 International Workers' Day celebration at Pantami Township Stadium, Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya reiterated his administration's commitment to enhancing security and economic development. He acknowledged the significant contributions of civil servants and emphasized the urgent need to address insecurity and poverty, which he identified as major challenges impacting Nigeria's economy.

Deputy Governor Manassah Jatau stressed that security is a collective responsibility, requiring collaboration between citizens and security agencies. He urged civil servants to support government efforts in combating insecurity and boosting the economy.

The event also highlighted gender inclusivity, with recent training for fifteen women truck drivers at Ashaka Cement PLC. Gombe State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Yusuf Bello, commended the government's support for workers, particularly in addressing long-overdue gratuities.

The celebration underscored the importance of unity among workers to support government initiatives for peace and security in the state.
