Gombe revitalises 103 PHCs to boost maternal, child health

Gombe State has revitalized 103 Primary Health Care centers as part of efforts to enhance maternal and child health interventions through the World IMPACT Project. The project aims to improve access to essential health services in vulnerable rural communities.

During the handover of one upgraded facility at Akko PHC in Akko LGA, Deputy Governor Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau highlighted the government's commitment to strengthening primary health care in the state.

The administration has increased healthcare funding from 5% in 2019 to 15% in 2025, in line with the Abuja Declaration. The upgraded facilities now have labor rooms, staff quarters, immunization units, antenatal care services, pharmacies, drug supplies, boreholes, solar lighting, VIP toilets, and staff accommodations.

This initiative is part of the state's efforts to improve the health of its citizens.
