Gombe Govt Revitalises 169 Health Facilities

The Gombe State government has revitalized 169 health facilities, including 103 Primary Health Care (PHC) centers and 66 clinics, to improve access to quality healthcare. The inauguration ceremony, held in the Akko local government area, highlighted the administration's commitment to strengthening the health sector.

The state's healthcare funding has increased by 15% in line with the Abuja Declaration, benefiting residents through the Gombe Contributory Health Agency and Drug Management Agency. The Deputy Governor emphasized the importance of community ownership to ensure the sustainability of the facilities.

The project, supported by the World Bank IMPACT initiative, aims to enhance maternal and child health services, immunization, and general healthcare for urban and rural communities. The initiative was commended for its collaborative efforts involving civil society organizations, technical teams, local government officials, and community members.
