Gombe State Targets N39 Billion IGR for 2026 Budget, Aims to Reduce Reliance on Federal Allocations

Gombe State plans to raise N39 billion in IGR for its 2026 budget, representing a 19.22% increase from the previous year. The state government, led by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, aims to strengthen revenue services to meet targets and reduce dependence on federal allocations and loans.

The budget breakdown was presented by Salihu Baba Alkali, emphasizing the need to sustain ongoing projects and improve service delivery through enhanced revenue collection. The state also expects substantial federal allocations, VAT shares, and external borrowing to support its budget.
