Kwara State Governor's Health Sector Achievements Highlighted by Commissioner

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has made significant strides in the health sector, according to the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Amina Ahm El Imam.

The state government has procured state-of-the-art medical equipment such as a 160-slice CT scan, a 1.5 Tesla MRI machine, and modern ultrasound machines to strengthen diagnostic capacities in healthcare facilities across the state. Additionally, the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH) has been fully equipped with advanced facilities, including a C-arm machine to support complex medical and surgical procedures.

Dr. El Imam addressed concerns about the availability of MRI services, stating that the previously installed low-field 0.35 Tesla MRI machine did not meet current diagnostic standards.

The government has also embarked on mass recruitment of healthcare workers and initiated free medical-surgical outreach programs to provide specialized healthcare services to residents, ensuring equitable access to care.
