Umo Eno's Strategic Growth Plan for Akwa Ibom State

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State is focusing on repositioning the state from consultation to consolidation to ensure strategic growth. During a recent work visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Eno outlined his vision for the state, which is at a political and economic crossroads.

Eno's administration aims to prioritize long-term benefits over short-term gains, emphasizing a consultative approach involving various stakeholders, including traditional rulers, political leaders, and youth groups. His political realignment, which includes a shift from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) effective June 6, 2025, is seen as a strategic maneuver rather than mere political opportunism.

Eno's ambitious fiscal plan includes a proposed budget of N1.58 trillion for 2026, reflecting a significant increase aimed at infrastructure, education, and healthcare investments. His administration's commitment to transparency and collaboration within the government framework is evident in the recent budget review, which allocated an additional N194 billion.
