Atiku Abubakar: Nigerians Defecting for Survival Reasons

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, remarked on the alarming trend of millions of Nigerians defecting from their political parties, attributing this shift to the dire need for survival. His comments were made in response to the actions of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, who recently switched allegiance from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abubakar criticized this trend as a reflection of political intimidation and pressure rather than genuine support for the ruling party. He pointed out that the current administration, led by Bola Tinubu, has failed to address significant economic challenges, including rising food prices, deepening poverty, and widespread unemployment.
