Taraba Governor Launches Modern Farming Initiative

On Monday, Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State announced the delivery of modern agricultural machinery aimed at enhancing food security and boosting agricultural productivity throughout the state. The initiative, which has received commendation from the Taraba State Tractor Hire Unit, is seen as a significant step towards modernizing agriculture in Taraba.

Hon. Zainab Jalingo confirmed the arrival of the equipment, which includes tractors, combine harvesters, and essential heavy-duty machinery designed to support large-scale farming activities.

This program is expected to significantly reduce post-harvest losses, expand cultivable farmland, and improve agricultural output in a state rich in arable land. The initiative aligns with Governor Kefas's commitment to transforming Taraba into a leading food production hub in Nigeria.

Engr. Danladi Shatali praised the governor's administration for its focus on agriculture as part of a five-point development agenda, which includes policies on education, healthcare, security, and infrastructure.
