Kogi Governor Ododo Initiates Renovation of Lokoja School

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has directed the renovation of Government Science Secondary School in Lokoja, emphasizing his commitment to improving educational infrastructure. The school was relocated in February 2011 by the late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris's administration, leading to neglect due to its difficult accessibility.
The renovation will be executed by the Forum of Former Commissioners in Kogi State, with state government support. Governor Ododo announced this initiative during a distribution of back-to-school materials to students, where he also provided each student with a cash gift of ₦2,000.
The distributed items included school bags, exercise books, and uniforms. Mr Ojapa Steven, the school principal, expressed gratitude for the support and acknowledged the government's education policies, including the payment of WASSCE fees.
Sani Ogu Salisu, Chairman of the APC Forum of Former Commissioners, stated that the intervention aims to alleviate financial pressure on parents and enhance educational investment.
