Gov. Okpebholo Signs New Laws in Edo to Protect Public Assets and Strengthen Justice System

Governor Okpebholo of Edo State has signed two significant laws aimed at protecting public assets and enhancing the state's justice system. The laws include the Edo State Public Property Protect Law 2025, imposing stiff penalties for illegal acquisition or tampering with state-owned properties.

The governor emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and misuse of public assets. Additionally, the Customary Court of Appeal Re-establishment Law 2025 restores the Edo State Customary Court of Appeal's supervisory powers over civil cases involving customary law.

The laws aim to promote transparency, discipline, and respect for the rule of law in Edo State.
